Summary0000233: Setting Gravity Via MAPINFO Creates "Variable" Gravity In-Game
DescriptionWhen gravity is assigned to a map via MAPINFO (not via ACS), the initial gravity upon entering the map is excessively high. (It almost seems like zero gravity.) This continues to be the case until the game is saved and reloaded. At that point the gravity resets itself to the properly-defined value in MAPINFO.
Steps To Reproduce1. Set gravity in map via MAPINFO
2. Start map and jump. [Ensure that the sector has an adequate ceiling height (e.g., 896 above floor).]
3. Save map
4. Reload saved game
5. Jump
Additional InformationTested with gzdoom-x64-g2.4pre-387-gbe9b2b3

This does not happen when the gravity is assigned sector-specifically via ACS.

I tried the following:
  1. Set gravity value to 100 for MAP30 of Doom II
  2. Verified that player jumps quite high in the icon of sin areas
  3. Saved the game, started new game and loaded saved one: player still jumps quite high
  4. Removed custom gravity for MAP30 to use default value (800)
  5. Loaded the game with low gravity (100) and player still jumps high
I must say that it works fine for me. Could you please provide a test sample with the problem you described?
I'm using the latest gzdoom-x64-g2.4pre-392-gd2affc7 at the moment.

The property definitely gets saved. And this looks like it's working correctly. Without a testable example I can't do much here. I suspect external interference but for that I need to have something that glitches.

Ok, since nobody seem to be willing to say anything, I'm closing this now.

Sorry about being silent. I have been without computer access for about 2 weeks. I tested with gzdoom-x64-g2.4pre-681-gf9f9f2d.7z and all is well. Many thanks for taking care of this.
